No, chiropractic care during your pregnancy will not harm your baby if your Doctor of Chiropractic is specially trained to treat pregnant women.

A woman can start undergoing chiropractic care at any point during her pregnancy. However, it is strongly recommended to start chiropractic care early in one’s pregnancy. This way, normal aches and discomfort experienced during your pregnancy can be avoided or kept to a minimum.

The most common and ideal position for birth is when the baby is head-down, also called the vertex position. When a baby is breech, it is positioned buttocks or feet first. It is much safer and easier to deliver a baby that is in the head-down, or vertex position. The Webster Technique is 84-95% effective for helping the alignment of the pelvis and surrounding tissues to that the baby may be able to get into the vertex or head down position. Absolutely not! Adjusting a child or infant is done with an extremely gentle approach, with the same amount of pressure as balancing a dime on your pinky finger. There is no “cracking” or “popping” sound when adjusting children or infants either. Many parents say that it appears as nothing was even done to their child.
